The Most Beautiful Places in the World that You Should See with Your Own Eyes. I have!

There are so many places you could pick to travel to in the world. But there are some places that should be at the top of your bucket list. If you are just starting out on traveling consider traveling to these places first. These are the most beautiful places in the world because of the culture, sights, food and people. Always travel to experience something different and come back changed even a little.

The Most Beautiful Places in the World;

When I started traveling I didn’t really have a bucket list but over time as I traveled more I started to create a list every year. I would make sure that each country I traveled to was different in one way or the other. That way by the time the year ended if you asked me to pick a favorite place I would probably say I couldn’t pick one. That’s the beauty of travel in my opinion. Go where you will be inherently changed.

As I get into this list there are places that won’t make the list because this is an all rounded list. I didn’t just take into considerations the sights. I factored in how people treated tourists, the food, ease of travel and culture. So here is a list of the most beautiful places in the world

The Most Beautiful Places in the World

Iceland

The Most Beautiful Places in the World

In all honesty as much as Iceland is one of the most beautiful place in the world it is also expensive. There is no getting around this and you will find yourself spending quite a bit of money. The best way to visit Iceland is to go over a long weekend in the summer. You have 23 hours of sunlight so you can maximize on sightseeing. This will cut down on hotel expenses and rental car expenses.

Pro Tip: Rent a car to see as much as you can.

Stay at Iceland Air Hotel

Tuscany Italy

The Most Beautiful Places in the World

Tuscany is one of the most beautiful places in the world that you will ever travel to. Hands down the charming back country has some of the best wine and food you will ever experience anywhere in the world. I loved how friendly the locals were and the feeling of home that I felt as I drove through Tuscany. When you picture Tuscany think of amazing views and pine trees. I recommend spending at least a week here. It’s great for retreats and honeymooners wanting to slow things down a bit. Make

Pro tip: Rent a car to get the most out of this amazing place.

Stay: Sartunia Tuscany Hotel and make sure you make your way to the natural hot springs. I loved seating by the pool, drinking some wine while watching the sprawling valley below. The food at the restaurant was amazing.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN THE WORLD

Antelope Canyon in Arizona is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The only way to access the canyon is to book a tour through one of the agencies. We booked with Dixie Ellis’ Lower Antelope Canyon tours. You MUST book with an agency. You will be driven to the Canyon and a guide will take you through the Canyon.

Pro tip: Stay in Arizona and drive there or from Phoenix.

Banff, Canada

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN THE WORLD

The Banff area in Alberta Canada will stun any traveler. I was stunned by the views and everywhere you turn will have a great view. These area is extremely busy in the summer time so if you can find a way to travel there in the off season or shoulder season you will have a greater experience. The closest airport is in Calgary and the drive to Banff is about 2 hours. Don’t worry thought the views all the way there are AMAZING! Rent a car and drive yourself there. It is an expensive destination but in my opinion it is absolutely worth it.

Pro tip: Book your hotels early as they do sell out quickly. Wake up early to sight see and to beat the crowds. If you arrive late there is parking outside of the main center and buses will drive you to different sightseeing locations.

Stay: Paradise Lodge & Bungalows. If you can get a cottage here book it one hundred percent. I loved lighting the fire in the room after soaking in the tub in the evening after sight seeing.

Uyuni, Bolivia

Uyuni

The first time I saw photos of this place I knew I had to go. The mirror effect of the salt flats is one of the most beautiful things you will ever see in your life. To get here you need to book with a tour agency and depending on where you start your journey you will be coming from Chile or Bolivia.

I chose to start my journey from the Atacama desert in Chile and to start exploring Bolivia from Uyuni. You will stay overnight in the desert for at least two nights. When I was there it was extremely cold at night so don’t let the desert fool you. Make sure you bring warm clothing because most of the places you will sleep may not have hot water or heating. They will provide a warm meal and sleeping bags but it’s always good to bring warm clothing.

Pro tip: Travel during the rainy season to ensure you get the mirror effect.

Iguazu Falls – Argentina

Iguazu Falla

Most people claim that the Argentina side of the Iguazu falls is better than the Brazilian side. I agree! It is more extensive in terms of walking through the falls and you will also be closer to the falls. I loved being so close to the source at “Devil’s Throat” where you get to experience the power of the falls.

From the Argentina side I took a raft to the water falls and this was a once in a lifetime experience because the rafts take you to the falls and you also ride in the river. Argentina is known for meat and wine. I ate some of the best Rib-eye cut I have ever had over some inexpensive great wine. We hired a driver who drove us from Brazil to Argentina because it was cheaper to fly within Brazil and then cross the border by car. Make sure you check visa rules before using this strategy.

Pro tip: If Iguazu Falls is on your bucket list and you have to pick a country, see them from the Argentina side.

Stay at Loi Suites Iguazu Hotel. This eco-friendly hotel in the middle of the jungle was stunning. I loved the hanging bridges, reading on the hammock, the complimentary bottle of wine and the breakfast spread. Stay here to connect with nature. Ask the concierge to recommend restaurants in the city.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Japan

Arashiyama

This makes the list because it is a remarkable place to visit if you are in Japan. I should mention though that it really isn’t a forest per sa but rather a stretch of bamboo canvasing a path. If you go there when it’s crowded you will be underwhelmed so I recommend going early so that you can enjoy it by yourself and when it’s quiet. It will be a much different experience.

Pro tip: Book your Japan rail pass before going to Japan. This will save you a lot of money if you plan to visit different cities in Japan.

The Philippines

The Philippines

I have no words to describe the Philippines except that you should go and see it for yourself. I saw some of the most pristine beaches in Coron and El Nido Palawan. Different tours are offered in each of these islands so you can book them based on the destinations you want. I swam with some of the most beautiful creatures in Moalbowl Cebu and went canyoneering in Kawasan. This is a must do! If you are an adventurer or beach person the Philippines will check off all your boxes. It’s super affordable to travel in the Philippines.

Pro tip: The best way to maximize your time is to use inter city flights. They are cheap and reliable. Organize transport before you arrive as buses take long.

Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu

This is one of the highest point you can get to without trekking too much. What makes this place one of the most beautiful places in the world is the uniqueness of this Inca civilization. Getting to see how people lived and the level of progress that these civilizations had made is impressive. In my opinion there is no place like Machu Picchu. Enjoy hanging out with Alpaca and make sure you support local businesses by buying locally made products.

You will need to spend a night or two to get acclimated and the journey will begin with one of the most scenic train rides. Buy a cup of coffee to keep warm at the train station from the local women selling it there.

Pro tip: Take the tea that they give you at the hotel to help with acclimation.

Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

Plitvice

This for me makes for one of the most beautiful on earth. I was stunned and wowed by how beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park is. Even with the crowds it was still just so breathtaking. Plan on spending half a day to a whole day here walking the different trails in the park. There are quite a few view points to pick from and if you have time you can go to all of them.

As with most popular places go early to avoid the crowds. If you rent a car and drive from Split for instance you can get there early and avoid all the bus tours. It can get seriously crowded in the summer which will impact your experience but I would still rank it as one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Pro tip: Get there early and if you can do not do a group tour. This park is amazing!

Santorini, Greece

Santorini

Santorini is a wedding destination for a reason! The sunsets and the views are breathtaking. I have been using this word a lot on this post because as I think about it I have been extremely blessed to see and experience these places. When you dock onto Santorini or land rent a car to be flexible on the island. The food in Santorini was fresh and really good.

Sunsets are crowded no matter what season you go. There is always a photo shoot going on because the back drop is unique to this island. If you can travel to Greece in the shoulder season the experience will be so much better.

Pro tip: Do not stay in Fira or Oia unless you have tons of money. Stay close to the island for better bargains.

Stay at Bellonias Villas. I got the most amazing deal to this place because I traveled in the off season. I recommend this place in any season. It has a secluded feeling and the villas are amazing! Also the black sand beach was a unique experience.

Rio De Janiero, Brazil

Ipanema

Ipanema beach, Christ Reedemer and the Botanical garden are the biggest attractions in Rio. If you are a party animal Ipanema beach is the perfect place for you. The beach is amazing and the local food is great. Get a caipirinha and oxtail stew. I loved people watching and this beach is perfect for that. If you think LA is fitness heaven then you haven’t been to Ipanema. Beautiful people live in Ipanema no jokes.

Rio De Janiero makes the most wonderful places in the world list because of its diverse experience. If you want to check out Christ Reedemer without the crowds book your ticket very early at opening time. For at least 15 minutes you get to see this wonder of the world by yourself. Make sure you check out the botanical gardens as well.

Pro tip: I hear the visa rules will be changing for Americans so be on the look out for that. You may not need to pay the current $150 visa fee!

Morocco

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN THE WORLD

Morocco surprised me because of how diverse it was. From the desert to the beaches in Tangier, the blue city, Essouira and the vibrant cities of Fes and Marrakesh you will experience everything Morocco has to offer. If you love taking photos and experiencing things that are out of your norm Morocco is the country for you. I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of the food it was mostly bland so Tangine is a no for me. The decor in the riads and the madrasas is a designers paradise.

Pro tip: Book the Instafamous riads early as they sell out months in advance.

Maui, Hawaii

Maui

The moment I stepped on Hawaii and more specifically Maui I felt like I had landed home and not many places give me that feeling. The island is laid back but still has all the amenities that you need in a modern city. The road to Hana was such a great experience and being able to make all the stops along the way was a blessing.

I quickly concluded that this is where I would love to live and retire if I ever had enough money. The unspoiled nature of the island is what makes it one of the most beautiful places in the world. You can get farm fresh food, less traffic and beautiful homes.

Pro tip: Stay at an Airbnb or home rental to save money on accommodation.

Havasupai, Arizona

Havasupai

The hike here is one of the most difficult things I have ever done and also the most rewarding. You have to apply through a lottery system to get a pass to hike here. This ensures that the reserve never gets over crowded to maintain the environment. This natural wonder is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen even with the serious body ache.

Make sure you pack what you need and still keep your backpack light. The camping experience was just amazing and watching the stars as the Colorado river flowed in the background is up there in the most amazing things I have ever done. If you are not up for the hike you can take the helicopter but this is not guaranteed as the locals get priority.

Traveling will change your life and if you have a chance book the flight and go!
