The holidays are upon us and if you are like me you are probably packing last minute. I created a holiday packing list that I can use every time I am on the go.Where are you going this year for the Holidays? I’m visiting some family and it’s always a little tricky when you are meeting people for the first time on the boyfriend or girlfriend side. You want to make sure you pack all the things that you need and you also want to be appropriate. So, if you are getting ready to go here is a great holiday packing list.
I am a chronic journal user. I use journals for everything and I like to make lists to track things that I need. For my packing lists depending on where I’m going, I’ll have different options for different days. This helps me to pull things together easily and it ensures that I don’t forget anything. I recommend journaling all the time and you should start using them too if you don’t.

My holiday packing list typically looks like the image below that you can pin on Pinterest. I check off things as I pack them and if you print it you can add notes at the bottom. The list is all the essential things you need at a minimum. Below the list is a holiday packing list by weather.
Holiday Packing List
Pack for Tropical Weather
I wanted to break down the packing list by weather. Depending on where you are heading warm or cold, I have provided a list of the things you need to pack to ensure that you stay comfortable.
Swimwear– I like to pack a one piece and a two piece. Options are always great and if you are looking for cheap and gorgeous options SHEIN always comes through for me.
Maxi dresses are so versatile, and you can dress them up or down. I love the flow and free feel of a beautiful maxi dress when I’m away with family. They are great for walking around and dinners as well. Also if you add on a belt you could transform a maxi dress into a gorgeous evening dress paired well with jewelry.
Short dresses should make the list especially if you are traveling somewhere humid. It can get extremely hot and sweating sucks. With a short dress it’s easier to stay cooler. You can find vacation dresses here.
Maxi skirts – I have two staple skirts that I always pack because I can wear them multiple times. I simply change up the top and pair it with a different scarf and no one’s the wiser. This can save space if you are trying to pack in a lot because you are able to wear some of your stuff more than once.
Tops – Usually I’ll pack different looking tops to pair with my maxi skirts. It saves me a ton of space because I can wear the skirts multiple times with a different top.
Light sweater – for most places during the holidays the nights get colder and having a light sweater is a plus.
Gym clothes – These can be packed for both cold and warm weather if you are planning on working out. Just remember to bring your gym shoes as well. I am that crazy person who can’t sleep in so when everyone else is asleep, I get up and run if possible.
Floppy hat because you need shade in the sun and they make any outfit look so good. I bought this one back in the summer and it was a hit. I got quite a few compliments.
Pack for Cold Weather
Leggings – I prefer to wear the fleece leggings when we travel to colder places. They are cozy and warm. I like these ones because they are affordable, and they do the job! Also, they last longer than most leggings do.
Sweaters – I like those long sweaters that come below my thighs for the holidays. They are super comfortable and warm. The best thing is that you can dress them up if needed.
Undershirts – for anyone who plans to be outdoors undershirts are a must to stay warm. There are some light ones that you can get that won’t feel bulky under a sweater. I am all about thermals especially if you plan on skiing.
Puffer Jacket – A jacket is a must and if you are traveling from somewhere warm it’s easy to forget. I absolutely hate being cold and my go to jacket is the North-face brand. I’ve had the one I have now for over five years and it’s a great buy.
Winter Boots – People always hate on Ugg’s but these suckers are warm, and I don’t care how I look in them. My feet are always warm and that’s what matter. I own two pairs; short and long. If we go up North for skiing, they are great to walk around in.
Heavy socks – If you don’t like being cold then you should invest in warm wooly socks.
Gloves – we always end up walking around after a huge meal and when the temperatures drop gloves come in handy.
Beanie – I have one of those super cute beanie hats that come down to my ears, so they act as wind blockers as well. Have you ever been so cold your ears were cold too?! It’s the worst. Make sure you don’t forget to pack your beanie hat.
Scarf – Don’t forget to pack a scarf. I never go anywhere without one because if you have one of those foldable ones you can use it in the house to cover up for those people who get cold easily. Also a scarf comes in handy on cold air planes.
Whatever you are doing for the holidays I hope you have a wonderful time. Safe travels and let me know if I missed something.
