Have you struggled like me to get a workout in? The week gets the best of you and before you know it, it’s Thursday and you haven’t met your workout goals. If you have struggled like me then you are in the right place. I have a few tips that will help you workout during the week.
I implemented the steps below at the beginning of the year and it has made it easier – not easy to get my workouts in. Everyone struggles to workout but once you set a routine I promise you will meet your goals. I have found that the hardest part is getting to the gym or out the door.
5 tips to workout during the week:
These five tips will ensure that you workout during the week without missing a day. If you miss a day then adjust accordingly because life isn’t perfect.
Work out in the morning.
Set aside time first thing in the morning if possible and get the workout out out of the way. This will set your day up for success. Alternatively set a time that works for you and make sure that it’s blocked off. I block out time on my calendar to ensure that I get a reminder and that everyone else knows that I will not be available.
Skip a day.
This means that if you start working out on Monday then your next work out will be on Wednesday and Friday. You get bonus points if you work out on Saturday. Also it gives your body a chance to rest before your next workout.
Workout Gear
Prepare you workout clothes and anything you need the night before. This means that you can wake up and immediately change into your workout clothes without having to figure out what to wear. Fill a bottle of water the night before is also a great way to get into workout mode. Nike always delivers in workout gear and it’s important to have appropriate workout gear.
Workout buddy
Workout with a friend or partner. Recruit someone to join you. This will keep you accountable and will also motivate you to show up every morning. Alternatively get a great workout mix or podcast to keep you company. There is always strength in numbers.
Change the workout
Change your workouts as often as you like. Every other week or month depending on your preference do something different. Change the running route, use a different machine in the gym or work out a different muscle. This should prevent boredom.
