First off let me start off by saying that there is no place like the Maldives. White sand beaches, clear blue water, romantic villas set on the water, world class resorts and accommodation that has been built solely for the romantic couples. All these factors make it one of the most romantic destinations in the world. It is pricey but if you are looking for a destination that will not disappoint you this is it.
From arrival to departure you will be treated like royalty and returning home will genuinely suck! Plan to have sunset dinners right on the beach, snorkeling with exotic marine life, eating amazing food and first-class service. I personally stayed at Velassaru and I could not recommend them more.

The must go islands in my opinion are Tahiti because everyone lands there when they arrive. Don’t spend too much time there. Sightsee for a day or two and then move one. It is cheaper to stay in Tahiti, but you can’t go to French Polynesia without stopping on the next two islands.
My next pick is Moorea and there are two ferry companies that will get you there for an affordable price. I would opt for the fast ferry which would get you there fast obviously but it’s also very affordable at approximately $80 which is much cheaper than flying inter island. Trust me it will be cheaper than booking individual flights.

Kauai’s sister Maui is where I would pick if I wanted to have my honeymoon close to home. Maui is a little more developed than Kauai, but the island has managed to maintain the green unspoiled feel. The fresh air, the coconuts, the fresh fruit, the gorgeous resorts, the shaved ice cream, the fresh sea food, great restaurants, beautiful beaches that you can just pull over to makes this destination a worthwhile contender.
There are beautiful homes that you can rent if you want to stay longer and even cook for yourself to save money on eating out. Vacation rentals are often cheaper than resorts.
